  • In person

I have been practising in Dorset since 2008, working with adults on an open-ended or time-limited basis. I am committed to offering a safe, supportive and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and experiences without feeling judged or being told what to do.

There are times when life becomes very stressful. Difficulties at work or at home can bring on depression, anxiety or a sense that you can no longer cope with everyday life. Counselling can give you room to talk those difficulties through.

How I work

As an integrative psychotherapist my approach is informed by person-centred, psychodynamic and existential thinking. What matters most to me is seeing each person as an individual and working in the way that best suits them.

Experience

Before training as a psychotherapist I worked in the NHS as a mental health support worker, alongside people living with a wide range of diagnoses. Since qualifying I have worked in an HIV charity, a university counselling service and a low-cost community counselling service.

Getting started

I offer an initial appointment so you can talk about what is affecting you at the moment and get a sense of what counselling would be like. You may leave feeling ready to work with me, or want to meet other therapists first. Either is fine: it is important that you find the right person.

Sessions last 50 minutes and are weekly, usually at the same time each week, although other times can sometimes be arranged. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed, are charged in full. There is no charge for holiday breaks, but as much notice as possible is appreciated.
